Michele’s Story
“…even though you have a mental illness it does not define you, you define yourself.”
Share your stigma experience.
I’ve been diagnosed with bipolar disorder since 2010 I never knew or believed the doctors I thought they were quacks when I was given my first prescription I guess my anger took over I flushed the whole bottle down the toilet. It took me years to learn to accept the fact I have bipolar and I need this not throw my life away.
How did you overcome this experience?
Taking medication as they are prescribed has helped me a lot using my grounding tools like meditation and going to day program.
Help others by sharing a brief, positive message.
If I were to help others please take your meds as prescribed don’t make a dumb decision like I did……. and even though you have a mental illness it does not define you, you define yourself.
