Help end mental health stigma in your community
Being welcome, included and valued is a basic human need and essential to mental health and well-being. It’s why eliminating inequities is key to building healthy communities.
Mental health is influenced by our culture, lived experiences, beliefs, race, identity, values and language. These all shape how we see and experience mental health and illnesses. They even affect our coping strategies, healing practices, therapies and the support we find helpful. This is why it’s so important to approach conversations in an open and informed way when we talk about mental health and care with all people.
Here’s a good place to start with helping to end the mental health stigma and change the way our communities are talking about mental health.
