“We all need help at times and there is no shame in that.”

Share your stigma experience.

Divorced, ADD, trauma, depression, and in the mental health profession. Stayed away from my career for 10 plus years because what did I have to offer??? Isolated, marginally functioning, my only energy went to my kids. Losing hope.

How did you overcome this experience?

I reached out to family, friends, professionals a divorce lawyer, and dug my way out of the hole I’d been in. Again, kids have always been my #1 priority and I finally believed that I wasn’t doing them a favor by sacrificing myself.

Help others by sharing a brief, positive message.

We all need help at times and there is no shame in that. We all make mistakes, and we don’t have to live in a self imposed prison. We can decide do make little changes that build ourselves up, giving us hope that it really can get better.
