I have been battling extreme anxiety for my entire life (since birth; since I was adopted). I have been to countless doctors, specialists, anything you can probably think of. Eventually I was able to get most of it under control, but I have many other issues happening. But again, I got it under control for the most part, and I lived an okay life… up until recently. One day, something didn’t seem right, but I avoided my feelings and thought it was just me having an off day. PFF. I wish that was the case. Day by day, things got even worse; until I couldn’t ignore my feelings. So I understood that something about me was changing, but I couldn’t describe it. I ignored my feelings and emotions for a couple months, until I couldn’t take it anymore. finally I told my friend, and my parents, and I went to see my psychologist. She kinda just listened to me; but then she knew something was up. So we did some more tests, and it came back I have depression, along with many other problems. I knew something was up, but even after taking those tests, I refused to get help because I thought I’d be able to deal with everything on my own. I was a teenage girl who didn’t need help. Or so I thought. Things got really bad, so I took a leave of absence from my job, because I knew that I wasn’t going to be able to work. Things got a little better, and then it took another turn. So here we are again, but this time I’m still waiting to get more tests done.
How did you overcome this experience?
I still haven’t fully overcome this experience, but I’m hoping it will happen soon!
