Alita’s Story

“I’m not alone! You’re not alone either!”

Share your stigma experience.

I’ve struggled with different mental health symptoms since I was a teenager. Seeing a therapist & taking meds-finally-at age 26 was a game-changer for me.

I was no longer seeing a therapist & have been off meds for over 6 years now.

Two years ago I had a beautiful baby boy-but I struggled with postpartum depression & anxiety. Four months ago I had another beautiful boy. I was so relieved to not experience any depression this time. But the anxiety is back full force.

How did you overcome this experience?

I struggled alone through Post-Partum Depression & things became more manageable after about 8 months. This time, I’m looking into a therapist & meds. I let the stigma prevent me from getting help last time. I can’t do that to myself again.

Help others by sharing a brief, positive message.

I have to tell myself I’m no less a parent for struggling with anxiety & needing help. I’m not alone! I can feel better & my symptoms are manageable. You’re not alone either!
