Maddie’s Story
“Always remember you have people who are willing to help you and don’t ever think you don’t.”
What kind of stigma did you experience/observe?
I’m here to share my experiences with panic attacks and anxiety. I’ve dealt with it for a while, since the beginning of 8th grade, and it has gotten worse. But, I learned to try and deal with it and if you can’t handle it, someone is always there to help you. Even if you don’t think you need help, it is always good to have someone by your side. I had all my teachers and friends by my side. I think the only time the anxiety was very bad was when I got to the gym one day. I sat out because my chest hurt and I thought it was a heart attack or something but I was assured that it wasn’t. So I guess it’s all going a bit better but I still have chest pains and I feel helpless at times but I know I’m not.
How did you overcome this experience?
I haven’t overcome it yet. I’m still working through it all.
