The Make It OK Campaign has come to Iowa! Make It OK is a campaign to help our communities start changing attitudes and negative perceptions about mental illness.
Make It OK Goal: Eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness.
Stigma is a leading barrier to the treatment for those suffering from mental illness. Through the development of a Make It OK Ambassador Bureau, along with a statewide coordination effort, local Iowa communities will have the opportunity to bring community education and discussions together to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illnesses.
Make It OK is here to help educate Iowans and get the conversations going. Start by learning what a mental illness really is. Then, find out what to say and not to say when someone opens up to you. You can also help others by sharing your own story to help people know they aren’t alone.
